(1)Raw Material Reception and Storage
Pig feed raw materials vary, they include: long material like crop straw, grains like wheat, maize, and others like oil cake/meal, additives, etc. different raw materials have different storage methods. For example, in complete feed pellet line of large capacity, storage silo is necessary for storing maize, wheat, and other grains.
(2)Feed Material Cleaning
The impurities in feed raw materials not only affect the quality of feed pellet products, but also directly relate to the feed processing machines and personal safety. In serious case, the whole equipment can be destroyed, which impacts the smooth progress of the feed production, so the impurities must be removed in time. The cleaning equipment of the feed pellet production line is based on screening and magnetic separation equipment. Screening equipment is used to remove large and long impurities such as stones, mud blocks and sacks. The magnetic separator is mainly used to remove iron impurities.
The technological process of feed crushing is determined according to the required fineness and the variety of feed. According to the times of raw material crushing, it can be divided into one stage crushing process, circulation crushing process or two stage crushing process. According to the combination form of batching, it can be divided into first batching, then crushing and first crushing then batching technology. The conditioning result directly influences feed pellets quality. The purpose of conditioning is to add water to the feed powder to let it has certain moisture content. After conditioning, the feed material is distributed evenly between the roller and ring die, so the feed pellets are pressed out through ring die holes, cut and discharged.
As in the process of pelletizing, the feed is input high temperature and humidity steam, and the squezzing process generates great heat, so the feed pellets moisture content can reach 16-18%, and temperature reach 75 ℃-85 ℃. Under this condition, the pig feed pellets are easily deformed and broken, and would bond and mildew in storage, so it is necessary to use feed pellet cooler to reduce their moisture to below 14% and decrease the temperature to below 8 degrees Celsius.
(7)Pig Feed Pellets Crumbling
For making young livestock feed pellets of small size, crumbling is also necessary. In order to save electricity, increase the output and improve the quality, the feed material is often made into a certain size pellets in order to save electricity, and then broken into required smaller pellet size. But it is not a must for all feed pellets manuracturers.
(8)Sieving (Screening)
In small pig feed pellet production plant, this process is realized by the feed pellet cooler. But in larger capacity pig feed pellet processing line, if the crumbler is used, the pellet sieving machine is also needed, since it can separate the powder from eligible feed pellets, so that uniform feed pellets can be deliver to later packaging process, and the powder or uneligible feed pellets can go back for reproduction.
Produced feed pellets are weighted and packaged for sale on the market.
3. The best ratio of pig feed formula
The cost of feed accounts for 70%-80% of the cost of pig farming, which determines whether pig raising can make money. Let me share with you a design method of pig feed formula.
(1) Bran feed
Bran feed includes rice bran, wheat bran, sweet potato vine bran, peanut vine bran, broad bean leaf bran, soybean straw bran, etc. The amount of pigs is 10%-15% of the total feed, and the maximum is not more than 20%.
(2) Cake and meal feed
Cake meal feed mainly includes rapeseed cake, peanut cake, cottonseed cake, soybean cake, sesame cake, etc. The mixing ratio of pig cake feed is 10%-25% of the total feed. Soybean cake and peanut cake have good nutrition and can be mixed with 25%; rapeseed cake and cottonseed cake should be less than 10%. Rapeseed cakes and cottonseed cakes must be detoxified as feed, and other cakes only need to be steamed or fried. It is not advisable to add cakes and meal to piglet feed.
(3) Dregs feed
Lesage feed includes distillers grains, bran grains, vinegar grains, powder residue, bean dregs, bagasse, etc. The amount of pigs is 5%-10% of the total feed. Distillers grains should not be fed to pregnant sows and late fattening. Various dregs must be cooked before feeding.
(4) Grain feed
Grain feeds include corn, barley, wheat, sorghum, broad beans, peas, etc. The amount of pigs is 50% of the total feed, and no more than 60%.
(5) Animal feed
Animal feed includes silkworm pupa, fish meal, bone meal, blood meal, feather meal, etc. The amount of pigs is 4%-8% of the total feed. Piglets should not be fed blood meal. Fishmeal can be mixed with 10% in fattening pig feed. If mixed with silkworm pupa, fishmeal can only be mixed with 5%-6%. Pay attention to the ratio of calcium and phosphorus when using this type of pig feed.
(6) Mineral feed
Mineral feed includes shell powder, eggshell powder, calcium carbonate, calcium phosphate and salt. The amount of pigs should be 1%-2% of the total feed, and the amount of salt should not exceed 0.5%. If trace elements are added, they should be used strictly according to regulations.
