Feed formula design for laying hens
The feed for the production of commercial eggs should have the basic characteristics of low cost of compound feed, good quality, low egg production cost, and high feed conversion efficiency.
For laying hens before 50 weeks of age, the feed conversion efficiency of laying eggs is relatively lower;
after 50 weeks of age, in addition to maintenance needs, the remaining part of the feed consumed by the chickens can be used to meet the needs of maximum egg production potential.
The higher the egg production rate of chickens, the less feed required for maintenance, and the higher the efficiency of feed utilization for egg production. If the feed nutrient supply is insufficient, the egg-laying potential of the chicken cannot be used; if the feed supply is excessive, the chicken will grow too fat, which is not conducive to egg production.
